Premier Bay Area Ballet Intensive

Our three-week intensive – June 9-27  –  is designed to improve your dancer’s technique and take their dancing to the next level, with daily classes taught by distinguished Bay Area guest teachers and our own DC ballet staff.

Half-day classes take place Monday to Friday, with three separate levels of instruction.  Dancers are encouraged to attend all three weeks of the Intensive!

2025/2026 DCPC dancers must attend at least one week of the Intensive.
2025/2026 Ballet Company dancers must attend all three weeks of the Intensive.

Junior Ballet Intensive
2:00-4:00 / Studio J4

Open to DC dancers placed in Primary Ballet, Level IA, IB & IIA for the 2024/2025 season.

Open to public: Ages 8-12 with at least three years of ballet training.

Intermediate Ballet Intensive
4:00-7:00 / Studio J4

Open to dancers placed in Level IIB & Level III for the 2024/2025 season.

Open to public: Ages 11-14 with at least five years of ballet training.

Advanced Ballet Intensive
4:00-7:00 / Studio J3

Open to dancers placed in Level IV & Level V/VI for the 2024/2025 season.

Open to public: Ages 14-18 with at least seven years of ballet training.

Nicole Khoo

Nicole Khoo Nicole Khoo grew up in Singapore, trained in Chinese dance, and went on to complete vocational levels of the RAD and CSTD under Donato C. Ferrer and Antony Tay.

She joined Singapore Ballet’s pre-professional scholarship program under Janek Schergen before joining Tampa Ballet Theatre and The Georgia Ballet, where she had the opportunity to perform a variety of classical and contemporary works including Carmen, Coppélia, La Fille Mal Gardée, Giselle, Haydn, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker, Paquita, Pentimento, Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, and Una Danza Para Ti.

Nicole Khoo relocated to the Bay Area in 2022 and has since enjoyed performing professionally with New Ballet, Oceanica Ballet, San José Dance Theatre, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, and Western Ballet.

Sharon Kung

Ms. Sharon Kung was born in New York and received her early training in the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus at the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet in Hong Kong. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California, Irvine with a BFA in Dance Performance and BA in Economics. She attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theater, Kirov Academy, The Juilliard School, American Dance Festival, ArtOf in Madrid, and Orsolina28.

Her experience includes KAMBARA+DANCERS, Dance Theatre of San Francisco, Oakland Ballet Company, Thodos Dance Chicago. Her repertory includes works from George Balanchine, Lucas Crandall, William Forsythe, Bob Fosse, José Limon, Dexandro Montalvo, Robert Moses, Donald McKayle, Crystal Pite, and Amy Seiwert.

She is a guest teacher for intensives in the San Francisco Bay Area and Hong Kong. Her philosophy is to teach the importance of artistry, technique, musicality, and creativity through movement.

Fabiana Santiago

Fabiana Santiago, from Crystal Lake, Illinois, began training at the age of four under Judith Svalander. She attended intensives with Boston Ballet, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, and Bolshoi Ballet Academy (BBA) resulting in a full scholarship to study in Moscow, Russia. Fabiana attended Butler University through a talent scholarship where she earned a BFA in Dance Performance. During her sophomore year, she trained with the BBA international training class in Moscow, and performed lead character roles on the historical stages of the Bolshoi Theater. After graduation, she began her dancing career with Menlowe Ballet in 2017 (under Artistic Director Michael Lowe), performing ensemble, soloist, and leading roles along with choreographing for the company. Fabiana currently freelances with ballet and contemporary companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and is a dance instructor and competition coach for Menlo Park Academy of Dance.

Henry Winslow

Henry Winslow grew up dancing in Bellingham, Washington. At 17, he moved to Oregon to study with Portland Ballet’s Career Track, training additionally with Limón, Jacob’s Pillow, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Springboard Danse Montreal. In 2021, he graduated with a BFA in Contemporary Dance from Boston Conservatory. While living in New York, Henry worked with Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group, and John Passafiume & Kristin Vining Collaborative, among others. He currently resides in Oakland, California, working as a performer, choreographer, and dance educator, building a sustainable and enjoyable career in the arts.
